EC BOCES received approval from CDE to use Title II funds to pay out ($320) stipends to any teachers providing K-3 literacy instruction in EC BOCES Consortium schools for successful completion of CDE approved READ Act PD.
Colorado school districts are required to ensure all K-3 teachers complete evidence-based training in teaching reading as a result of changes to the Colorado READ Act in SB 19-199. This would include Title I, ELD and SPED teachers working with K-3 students in the area of literacy as well.
Terms: The stipends will be paid out on a first come, first serve basis. Once the budgeted amount has been expended, no more funding will be available to be paid out. Hard deadline for the stipends: May 28, 2021 (if the funding lasts through that date). Please submit as soons as you have completed the training, and have the documentation you need to submit. There is NO GUARANTEE THIS FUNDING WILL BE AVAILABLE AGAIN.
