PRESENTER: Dr. Audrey Meador
LOCATION: Over Zoom
DESCRIPTION:
Each coach will utilize one standing, recurring Zoom link (Virtual Office) for all three time blocks to allow educators to drop in seamlessly.

These virtual coaching sessions will provide CTE educators with targeted support for integrating meaningful and relevant mathematics practices into career and technical education instruction. Participants will explore practical strategies for connecting mathematical concepts to authentic workplace applications and strengthening students’ problem-solving, reasoning, and career-readiness skills. Coaching will focus on:
Applied Mathematics: Identify opportunities to reinforce mathematical concepts through authentic CTE tasks, projects, and workplace scenarios.

Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking: Use real-world challenges to strengthen students’ ability to analyze information, select appropriate strategies, and solve problems.

Industry-Specific Math Skills: Connect mathematics instruction to calculations, measurements, data, financial concepts, and other quantitative skills used within specific career pathways.

Data Interpretation: Incorporate charts, graphs, tables, measurements, and industry data to build students’ quantitative reasoning and decision-making skills.

Instructional Coaching: Provide individualized support, reflection, and problem-solving based on educators’ classroom needs and program goals.

Planning for Implementation: Identify practical pre-made math micro-strategies educators can immediately integrate into upcoming CTE lessons and learning experiences. Participants will leave with practical strategies for embedding mathematics into CTE instruction and an implementation plan for strengthening students’ quantitative reasoning, problem-solving, and career readiness.
