DESCRIPTION: In-person Only Training
This professional development session will provide Business and Hospitality CTE educators with an opportunity to review program progress, assess implementation of improvement strategies, and plan for continued CTE program quality. Participants will examine student and program needs, share effective practices, and identify resources and partnerships that strengthen CTE instruction and career-connected learning. The session will focus on:
● Improvement Plan Progress: Review progress toward program improvement goals, identify successes and challenges, and establish priorities and next steps for the spring semester.
● Instructional Planning: Strengthen Business and Hospitality instruction through collaborative planning, sharing of effective practices, and alignment with current industry and workforce expectations.
● Resource Planning: Identify instructional materials, technology, equipment, professional development, and other resources needed to strengthen program quality and student learning.
● Coaching and Program Support: Determine opportunities for continued coaching, technical assistance, collaboration, and site visits to support implementation of program goals.
● Career-Connected Learning: Plan meaningful opportunities such as the CTE Career Expo, Finance Park, Stock Market Challenge, industry partnerships, field trips, guest speakers, and other experiential learning activities.
● Student Outcomes and Career Readiness: Develop strategies that strengthen students’ technical skills, financial literacy, employability skills, leadership, and preparation for postsecondary education and careers in Business and Hospitality. Participants will leave with updated program improvement priorities, identified resource needs, and clear action steps for strengthening Business and Hospitality CTE programs throughout the spring semester
