PRESENTER: Colorado School Districts Self-Insurance Pool
LOCATION: East Central BOCES West Training Room (unless we are too big and then will move to Limon School)
DESCRIPTION: McGrath Response System Training - Responding to Title VI, VII & IX Incidents
The McGrath Response System training provides everything administrators need to confidently take a
complaint through its entire lifecycle (inquiry, full investigation, and hearing). The goal of the McGrath
Response System training is that participants will receive a visceral as well as an intellectual experience of
what the relevant terms and definitions mean to real people. This is accomplished through role play that has
the participants experience the impact of sexual harassment and misconduct on the target(s) of those
behaviors, on the school climate, and on the trust of the community.
Each participant will receive educational materials on the copyrighted McGrath Response System that will
guide the reporting and inquiry process: from the first awareness that something doesn't feel right, to the
ability to transmit that information using a simple Incident Report Form that communicates to a trained site
person so they may conduct an initial inquiry into the situation and, if there are potential violations of policy and/ or law, the "how to" of conducting a formal investigation in detail.
The McGrath Response System has comprehensive flow charts, sample forms, checklists, and a manual to guide the participants through the processes and serve as a subsequent reference resource. Conducting a thorough investigation and properly documenting findings can help stop the harm and reduce district liability in potential lawsuits.
Breakfast and Lunch will be provided. MAKE SURE YOU REGISTER BY APRIL 22ND SO MATERIALS CAN BE ORDERED AND WE HAVE A COUNT FOR FOOD!
