DESCRIPTION:
Secondary educators will join Starr Sackstein as she presents learning opportunities connected to the formative assessment process. Throughout the year we've discussed a variety of comprehension strategies such as parallel teaching and a discussion of surface, deep, and transfer learning. In this daylong workshop, we will explore these strategies as well as peer feedback and student reflection, self-assessment, and how to use them to help students understand the different levels of learning. Lunch and a stipend will be provided.
Lunch will be provided and a stipend will be paid to those attending.
