Get ready to dive deeper into the Science of Reading and Writing! This professional development series is designed for all 6–12 content area teachers who want to strengthen students' reading and writing skills across subjects — whether or not you attended this year’s Zoom sessions! Participants will explore research-based strategies to support literacy development in all disciplines, deepening their understanding of the Academic Content Standards and the National Reading Panel’s key components of literacy: phonemic awareness, phonological awareness, vocabulary development, fluency, and comprehension. They will learn how to incorporate evidence-based reading and writing practices into their content instruction to help all students, including striving readers, writers, and gifted and talented students, engage more deeply with subject matter.

Participants are encouraged to bring any teaching materials they currently use or wish to plan with. Sessions will offer opportunities to work hands-on with your own resources, ensuring you leave with practical, ready-to-implement strategies that fit naturally into your classroom. This series isn’t just about learning—it’s about transformation.
