Site event
PRESENTER: Catapult Learning LOCATION: East Central BOCES West Training Room DESCRIPTION: Join us for a full-day professional development training from 9 AM to 3 PM, with a stipend and lunch included.

Get ready to dive deeper into the Science of Reading and Writing! This professional development day is designed for K-5 teachers who want to strengthen their literacy instruction with research-based, evidence-aligned practices — whether or not you attended this year’s Zoom sessions! Participants will explore research-based strategies to enhance reading and writing instruction across all grades, deepening their understanding of the Academic Content Standards and the National Reading Panel’s 5 Components of Reading and Writing: phonemic awareness, phonological awareness, vocabulary development, fluency, and comprehension. They will discover ways to support a wide range of learners, including emerging readers, writers, and gifted and talented students.

Participants are encouraged to bring any teaching materials they currently use or wish to plan with. Sessions will offer opportunities to work hands-on with your own resources, helping you walk away with meaningful, ready-to-implement strategies. This series isn’t just about learning—it’s about transformation. Whether you're looking to refine your literacy practices, gain fresh ideas, or re-energize your teaching, this series is designed to empower and excite you. It’s an important opportunity to elevate your instruction and better support your students’ success in reading and writing. Don’t miss this chance to grow, collaborate, and lead the way in literacy excellence!
