DESCRIPTION:
This cluster will provide strategies for supporting the needs of non-verbal learners in the early childhood classroom, including ideas on how to promote engagement/participation within classroom activities, how to model expanded language for emerging communicators and how to assess and measure early academic knowledge. We will also discuss the next steps for non-verbal learners who may not be showing progress, including referrals to the assistive technology team and what that may look like.
