DESCRIPTION:
Rachel Fairchild, an EL Consultant for the Core Collaborative, will present on major theories, concepts, and research related to language acquisition for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CLD) Students and include teaching strategies, methods, materials, and assessments for CLD students. Teachers renewing their licenses in the areas of elementary education, English language arts, math, science, and social studies will need 45 hours of EL PD to renew their teaching license. This PD is intended to support consortium teachers in acquiring these hours. Rachel will continue her work with supporting Impact Teams and implementing EL strategies using her book How to Reach and Teach English Language Learners.
