July 30: EL PD at the Burlington Community Center
July 31: EL PD AT THE LIMON SCHOOL (Not at the BOCES)
Stipend, Lunch and Recertification Hours Provided.
Put one of these EL PD opportunities on your calendar and register on the EC BOCES website. Rachel Fairchild, an EL Consultant for the Core Collaborative, will present on major theories, concepts and research related to literacy development for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CLD) Students and include teaching strategies, methods, materials, and assessments for CLD students.
The sessions will take place at Bennett, Burlington, and Limon and will provide 6.5 hours of EL PD. All of the content will be the same, so just choose and register for one day of training. If you cannot attend the training in your area, you have the option to attend one of the others. Teachers renewing their license in the areas of elementary education, English language arts, math, science, and social studies will need 45 hours of EL PD to renew their teaching license. This PD is intended to support consortium teachers in acquiring these hours.
