If you are working to earn the 45 contact hours of EL PD, please take advantage of one of the Beth Skelton PD events taking place on June 1, 2, or 3 hosted at Deer Trail, Limon and Burlington. See the BOCES website calendar to register and for more information about the content.
Additionally, CDE is offering self-paced eWorkshops and a series of online courses. These opportunities will not always be available, so please take advantage of them while they are being offered. The State Board of Education adopted new rules in June 2018 requiring educators with elementary, math, science, social studies and English language arts endorsements to complete Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CLD) Education training or professional development (PD).
CDE has paid WIDA to provide self-paced EL eWorkships until August 31. The person in your district who manages the WIDA Secure Portal accounts, will need to create an account for you if you want to access these trainings.
WIDA Self-Paced eWorkshops can be a valuable resource to use in a Professional Learning Community (PLC). WIDA Self-paced eWorkshops are available to Colorado K-12 educators with a school district email through August 31st. To access the workshops:
- Log in to your WIDA Secure Portal account.
- Click the “WIDA eLearning Center” tile in the Portal to view available eWorkshops.
- Complete an eWorkshop and print & save your certificate.
