	st Training Room DESCRIPTION: This training will provide educators with a c
	lear understanding of the difference between health concepts and skills\, e
	xplores the characteristics of effective health education\, and identify st
	rengths and opportunities for implementing Colorado’s Comprehensive Health 
	Education Standards. Participants will engage in practical strategies to en
	hance instruction\, promote student well-being\, and align teaching practic
	es with state expectations. Session Objectives: Participants will be able t
	o: Explore health concepts and skills based health education Identify the c
	haracteristics of effective health education and instruction practices Iden
	tify health education standards and opportunities for implementing the stan
	dards BIO Jamie Hurley\, Ph.D.\, has served as the Content Specialist for H
	ealth and Physical Education at the Colorado Department of Education for th
	e past six years. He oversees the development and implementation of compreh
	ensive health and physical education standards\, instructional best practic
	es\, supports whole child efforts\, and provides guidance on comprehensive 
	health education\, vaping prevention\, and student wellness grants. Jamie i
	s currently guiding a committee to address mental health and social media a
	nd developing lessons based on indigenous Native American games for the Ute
	 tribes. Before his tenure at CDE\, Jamie was a Health Education Consultant
	 at RMC Health\, contributing to health skill models and training for the C
	DC's Health Education Curriculum Analysis Tool. He has also worked as an at
	hletic trainer and middle school health educator and was a member of the SH
	APE America Health Education Standards Revision Committee. Jamie is an avid
	 runner\, outdoor enthusiast\, and has lived in Colorado for 24 years with 
	his wife\, a K-12 educator\, and their four children. Lunch will be provide
