SPED EL Symposium
WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Multi-disciplinary school or district team that may consist of: content area teachers, Special Education teachers, ELD Specialists, building administrators, directors, some school psychologists, other appropriate K-12 members of the individualized problem solving team. TEAM REGISTRATION IS HIGHLY ENCOURAGED and limited to four staff members of varying roles within your school/district. LIMITED TO 40 PARTICIPANTS TOTAL!
WHEN: August 16-17, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
WHERE: East Central BOCES Office - 820 Second Street, LImon, CO 80828
PRESENTER: Linnea Hulfshof, CDE
PURPOSE: The session will work through a collaborative process and engage the participants to think within the context of their own school building or school district and how to create processes for determining if dual identification is appropriate. It will also assist in developing processes for teams to work collaboratively in supporting student learning needs. Specific topics will include:
1. Referral to individualized problem solving team
2. Tiered differentiated interventions and progress monitoring
3. Referral to SPED
4. Eligibility Determination
5. IEP Development and Delivery
The symposium will address appropriate assessments, assessment considerations, and interpretation of assessments specifically as they relate to EL's as part of each area.
Lunch will be provided! CDE recertification credit will be issued for those attending. Register here if you plan to attend so we have enough food and materials. Remember only 40 participants will be allowed.
