DESCRIPTION:
The Colorado Department of Education’s Rules for the Administration of the Protection of Persons from Restraint Act are the governing rules that should be implemented whenever a public school student has been subjected to a restraint, either physical restraint or seclusion restraint. This training will focus on the CDE rules and how to ensure that school staff members are following these rules appropriately. Disability Law Colorado will cover the definitions of the various restraints, when you are allowed to use restraints, the difference between and hold and a restraint, the difference between a restraint and a seclusion restraint, and the paperwork and notification procedures to be followed once a restraint has been implemented.
Register here if you plan to attend and make sure that you mark how you will be attending, either here at the BOCES or over Zoom so that we have a correct count for dinner for those attending here at the BOCES.
